Surprise wedding for groom
Ladies may be inspired to invest in wedding insurance and arrange a surprise ceremony after hearing how one bride did just that.
New Zealander David Shoemark was shocked to arrive at a family picnic and discover it was in fact his wedding day.
The groom had repeatedly asked his girlfriend Cherie Butler to be his wife and she merely responded with the answer “one day”.
However, unbeknownst to Mr Shoemark, she had secretly arranged for 40 friends and family to meet at a park where they would exchange vows.
Talking about his shock on the big day, Mr Shoemark said: “They stitched me up well and truly.”
He explained how he only grew suspicious when he arrived at the park to find people he was not expecting to see there and a few friends began taking photos of him.
Earlier this year, Canadian native Shawn Lippert surprised his girlfriend Colleen by proposing to her at a fake retirement party and then revealing he had organised for them to marry straight away.
