Replica Diana dress and shoes auctioned for £84k
Ladies looking for wedding insurance policies may be shocked to hear replicas of Princess Diana’s bridal gown and shoes have sold for £84,000.
The dress was created as a backup in case anything happened to the late royal’s original outfit.
It was created by designer David Emanuel and is identical to the one Princess Diana wore when she tied the knot with Prince Charles in 1981.
Along with the dress were a pair of bridal slippers in size 6.5, which were intended to be worn if the others broke or were stained.
The gown was bought be a fashion museum in Chile, while the footwear was purchased by a private collector.
According to the Daily Mail, the shoes featured lace detailing and the initials C and D were painted on the soles along with a heart.
