Paul McCartney set for third marriage
It has been announced that the third wedding of Sir Paul McCartney, 69, to American heiress Nancy Shevell is ‘imminent’.
The couple have been in the UK finalising their small family ceremony at McCartney’s farmhouse in Sussex. A source said: ‘They will be marrying imminently. They are very excited and almost everything is in place. Family and friends have been put on standby.
51 year old Nancy, from New York, has told her friends that the wedding is set to go ahead. It seems that McCartney wants to avoid a large publicised wedding like his previous marriage to Heather Mills in 2002.
McCartney’s first marriage to Linda ended when she tragically died of breast cancer in 1998, and they had three children – Mary, Stella and James, McCartney adopting Linda’s daughter Heather. McCartney then married Heather Mills in 2002, having daughter Beatrice in 2003, andwith the marriage bitterly ending in divorce in 2008.
‘Nancy would have liked to get married in New York, but she knew an English wedding would make Paul happy,’ added the source. ‘In the end they decided to marry in the UK and have a party for all their American friends at their home in the Hamptons later. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a couple so besotted with each other.’
Paul and Linda have been dating since 2007, and the engagement was confirmed in May of this year. The couples’ rings have already been selected from famous Los Angeles jewellers Neil Lane.
