Numbers of proposals by women on the rise
A new study has shown that an increasing numbers of women are asking their male companions to marry them. The study shows that one in ten women have actually made the proposal themselves instead of waiting for their man.
30 years ago, a woman proposing to a man would be unheard of, however things have changed into the modern age and the numbers are rising. Three quarters of the women who have made this decision, however, wish their partner had done it first.
The romantic ideals of a perfect proposal seems to be disappearing, as money seems to be getting tighter and a lot of people tend to stay at home as opposed to proposing in a ‘Hollywood’ style romantic place or on holiday.
The outcome of the study suggested that women want their partner to propose. They should have been planning the proposal for at least one month, and it should happen on an evening in December. Not on one knee, but at home in the UK, without her father’s approval.
However the study also showed that men want to be the one to propose, spending less than one month planning it. They would like it to occur on an evening in June, in a place they first met, maybe at home, without permission or approval from her father.
Three out of five males are not planning to propose on one knee, and only one out of three women actually want their partner to propose on one knee.
Over half of proposals are spontaneous, and more women proposing shows that the spontaneity is more prominent in an emotional moment. However less than one in three Britons thought their proposal was actually perfect.
