Is 120-year-old world’s oldest groom?
Wedding insurance customers may be shocked to hear how one man from a north-east Indian village has claimed to be the oldest groom in the world.
At an alleged 120 years old, Hazi Abdul Noor could beat the current Guinness World Record holder, who was added to the hall of fame after getting hitched aged 103, if his claims are found to be true.
Mr Noor married his 60-year-old wife in the village of Satghori in front of his two sons and four daughters from his first union.
Six years ago, the newlywed was made a widower after his previous partner died and his children sought to secure him a new love.
Mr Noor’s son Hazi Azir Uddin said: “It was not an easy job to find a bride for a 100-year-old. However, by the grace of God, we have found a new mother, though she’s half his age.”
Elsewhere, Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher are officially the world’s longest married couple, having exchanged vows 86 years ago.
