Gene Simmons finally ties the knot with girlfriend of 28 years
After almost thirty years of a relationship with Shannon Tweed, Gene Simmons has married his long-term girlfriend at the Beverly Hills Hotel yesterday.
Simmons, 62 and Tweed, 54, got hitched in front of their 400 guests, who cheered as they finally said ‘I do’.
In their reality television show Family Jewels, Gene Simmons refused to be faithful to Shannon Tweed, and said ‘I will do my best.’
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Simmons stated: ‘It is time for me to grow up. I’m 62. I’ve been doing a lot of wacky stuff for an awfully long time – the band, the thing, travelling around the world and all that.’
‘I love Shannon with all my heart and all my soul and always will.’
Instead of wedding gifts, the couple asked their guests to make a donation to charities close to their hearts.
Shannon Tweed tweeted yesterday morning: ‘I’M GOING TO GET MARRIED TODAY!! TO THE MAN I LOVE’. Tweed also stated later on: ‘Everyone said it would rain! It’s a perfect day for a white wedding!’
