Def Leppard Guitarist Ties The Knot in Florida
It’s third time lucky for Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen, after he tied the knot for the third time, just nine days after getting a divorce.
Collen and costume designer Helen L Simmons had a stunning sunset ceremony on the beach in Florida in front of 60 guests.
Phil told People.com,’We’ve been looking for each other our entire lifetime,’ . ‘To say we’re ecstatic this day has finally come is putting it mildly. It could only be us for each other.’
Fellow Def Leppard bandmates Rick Savage and Vivian Campbell joined the couple in Florida to celebrate the nuptials. The wedding ceremony featured readings from poet Maya Angelou’s Touched By An Angel and writings by the Dalai Lama.
The couple also gave their wedding a bespoke feel by giving all the guests guitar picks with the lovers’ names. The wedding reception menu was organic vegetarian and vegan menu options as rocker Phil himself has not eaten meat for 27 years.
The couple who married at the Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach resort Florida, endeded up having a very eco friendly wedding. Phil said: ‘We didn’t intentionally start out trying to have green wedding, but since it’s a natural part of our lifestyle to respect the environment, everything flowed pretty naturally.’
