Venue closure ‘could see couples lose their deposits’
Couples who were to wed at a venue in Bath have been instructed to check their insurance policies to see if they can claim back money after its closure has been announced.
The collapse of Aspire Venues has resulted in Georgian Mansion Chewton Place ceasing trading.
Not only will brides and grooms be forced to find somewhere new to exchange vows, but they may also be left out of pocket.
Tim Ball, restricting services partner at Bristol-based Mazars claimed it is important people are realistic at this time.
He stated: "I would encourage all customers who are affected to contact their credit and debit card providers or insurers to establish if they can be reimbursed for their potential loss."
Wedding insurance is designed to protect an individual's investment in their big day in the case of proceedings being disrupted by a natural disaster, venue closures or suppliers failing to deliver.
