Cupcakes ‘better than wedding cakes’
When considering what type of wedding cake to opt for couples may want to remember one former groom's words of advice.
An extravagant creation may not only require a wedding insurance policy to protect it, but could also go to waste on the big day, Galen Kennedy told US publication the Star.
Mr Kennedy explained how extravagant cakes are often a waste of money, as friends and family members do not always show an interest in tiered masterpieces.
It was suggested slices of cake go untouched and a bride and groom may be left with lots to take home.
However, cupcakes were described as a good alternative, as they can easily be taken home by guests and are a simple alternative to a dessert.
It was recently noted by Amber Hunter, senior tutor at The Wedding Planner School, that the latest trend for tiered cakes is to stack them directly on top of one another rather than using stands to separate them.
