Bridal store targeted by thieves
Investing in wedding insurance may become a priority for some brides after hearing how thieves stole 40 bridal gowns from a store in the West Midlands.
Patricia Onions, owner of Patricia Couture boutique, described in an interview with Wedding News her devastation at having the collection of dresses taken by burglars.
Among the pieces were 20 bespoke gowns that were designed and handmade by the shopkeeper.
Fortunately, none of the dresses ordered by local brides-to-be were taken, as they had been stored in a separate secure area.
However, Ms Onions explained it will take her several years to replace the customised collection and she has appealed for the return of the 20 gowns.
The remaining missing creations can be reordered, but are expected to take 20 weeks to be delivered, causing concern over a loss of business.
Elsewhere, police in Chicago recently reunited one lucky bride-to-be with her wedding dress just hours before her nuptials after the gown was taken when her car was robbed.
