Here are just a few tips for your wedding day to make sure it goes perfectly!
- Get a pillow case or silk undershirt to cover up your head when putting on an over-the-head dress as to not spoil your hair and make-up.
- Wear a shirt when getting your hair done before your wedding, so you don’t ruin your do when getting changed.
- Make sure the bride gets ready first – this way if things run late, it isn’t the bride who is rushing to get ready and any adjustments can be made in time.
- Ask a friend to help with any buttons or lace to avoid breaking or snapping off any nails.
- Remove any sticky labels from the underside of your shoes before the big day to avoid the fiddly, time consuming job on the day.
- Grooms – remember your socks! Lots of grooms get married without socks and it doesn’t look good on the photos!
- Buttonholes are traditionally worn on the left lapel, but either side is fine as long as the groom and all ushers have their buttonholes on the same side.
- If the groom usually sports a shaven head, make sure it is cut at least one week before the wedding to give some time to grow back, as it can lead to bald or shiny heads on photographs.
