Get those wedding pictures perfect!
Make your wedding photos perfect with these 10 simple steps.
1. Choose your photographer carefully – review their portfolio and album examples, make sure you are happy and don’t just choose on a whim!
2. Have a chat with your photographer beforehand – this will ensure your instructions are fresh in the photographers mind and you can express your ideas and do’s and don’ts.
3. Create a photo wish list – give your photographer your every photographic wish to make sure your ideas are played out and you get that magical photo taken at sunset or in your idyllic location.
4. Relax – make sure you feel at ease when the photographs are being taken so that the pictures don’t look too stiff and posed.
5. Don’t shoot at noon – the time for photos is far from perfect when the sun is at its highest. It creates harsh shadows on the face and does not give the best light. Wait until the afternoon in order to get ideal lighting.
6. Make sure you bring powder and anti-perspirant – sweating will happen of course, but nobody wants to look back at their wedding photos and see sweaty, shiny people staring back. Take some powder and deodorant and be prepared!
7. Plan enough time – it takes longer than you would have thought to drive to your several photo locations and take all your pictures – allow extra time. Take the big group pictures first before all the party get a bit tired. Then move on to the smaller groups of the bridal party and family pictures. Lastly, take your personal husband-and-wife pictures and spend as much time as needed to get them right.
8. Take note of your hand and feet position – make sure you don’t end up fidgeting and leaning on one foot. Keep comfortable and focused for as long as possible.
9. Capture those small moments – the first dance, first kiss, cutting of the cake. Make sure your photographer is there to capture every tiny detail.
10. Carry on the photographs after the reception – many weddings produce great photos after the reception is over that you will really wish you had – keep the camera rolling!
